Qualifying Ancestors of Kentucky Company Members
Although covering only a small number of the earliest of the Qualifying Ancestors, the three-volume 4th Edition of Adventurers of Purse and Person, edited by John Frederick Dorman, provides six-generation genealogies of those individuals who were either in Virginia by 1624/5 or were stockholders of the Virginia Company of London.
The following is a list of Jamestowne Society Qualifying Ancestors from whom Kentucky Company members claim descent. The last name of the respective member and their membership number appear in parenthesis by the ancestor. Not all of the lineages of the respective Kentucky Company members back to these ancestors have been formally submitted to the Jamestowne Society for approval. This list is merely provided to inform prospective members of what ancestral descents are represented in Kentucky.
Brief service designations are provided, where applicable. The following abbreviations are used, in addition to military titles:
