The membership of the Corporation shall be composed of present life members of the Jamestowne Society, an incorporated association.  All members must be descendants of stockholders in the London Company or of the Virginia Company, or descendants of those who owned land, or who had domiciles in Jamestowne, or on Jamestowne Island, prior to the year 1700.  Because of the nature of their duties, all Governors, Secretaries of State, Treasurers, Attorneys General, and Auditors General of the Colony, members of the Council of State and House of Burgesses, and Clerks and Deputy Clerks of the General Court prior to the year 1700 shall be conclusively presumed to have had their domicile on Jamestowne Island during their terms of office.

After attaining membership in the National Organization, individuals may join the Kentucky Company.  Those who have ties to Kentucky or live in Kentucky are welcome to become members. 

Kentucky Company has members all over the Commonwealth as well as out of state.  Several are in Louisville and Lexington.  Other areas represented are:  Danville, Hopkinsville, Paris, Stanford, Madisonville, Ft. Wright, Edgewood, Georgetown, Cadiz, Frankfort, Henderson, Winchester, Cox’s Creek, and Bowling Green.

Florida, Ohio, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Virginia, Washington, D.C. are the states represented.

The Kentucky Company has qualified genealogists willing to work with prospective members providing advice and step-by-step instructions as well as assistance with applications.  Contact the Governor, Anne Stokes Moore, for more information or assistance.
